This Fire (4.09)
There's a post that stands in the middle of the beach
with a story written on it round and round
It tells of a woman with a truly restless heart
That was trying to fly right out of her chest
When the waves draw close and you can read the words
Of what happens when all your dreams become smashed
And all hope for a change has blown away
And a shadow is all that remains
When the darkness falls
And the roar surrounds
I can still see the pain in the air
This fire won't burn out
That flame is much too deep
Your secret it will always keep
This fire won't burn out
You can see her walk in theĀ front of the sea
With the waves sparkling through her hair
Her eyes were staring at an approaching wall
With a silence we could never comprehend
Sometimes hands get held out
Sometimes they get pulled in
And there's nothin' nothin' you can hold onto
And you think that you're totally free
But there's still the cage for you and me
When the darkness falls
And the roar surrounds
I can still see the pain in theĀ air
This fire won't burn out
